This week we discuss many of the funny songs and skits that were made famous by radio DJ Doctor Demento. This topic ended up being so big we're splitting it into two parts. This week, we discuss the songs we grew up with, from Seb Wooley's 1958 hit “The Purple People Eater”, and “The Existential Blues” by Tom “T-Bone” Stankus, Ray Stevens, Allan Sherman, and, of course, the great Tom Lehrer!
Next week we're going to do modern funny songs and skits.
Please note, we're not going to be covering Weird Al this episode as we already have an episode done previously about his music.
